Telling Stories With Photography ( Why It’s important to me)

This right here? This is why storytelling photography lights me up. Not the "everyone stand in a line and smile" version, but the REAL version.

Mom holding the baby while dad launches their kid in the air (probably watching for the ceiling fan haha). The rumpled bed, unmade and perfect. Thomas's room exactly as it is right now. These aren't product photos… these are family photos done professionally, in every day life…. this is how they actually live.

See that specific way mom watches them both? The way that toddler trusts dad completely? Those little quirks and interactions... they're gonna change. But right now, THIS is their story. This is Saturday morning. This is who they are together when nobody's trying to look perfect.

In 20 years, this photo won't just show what they looked like. It'll show exactly who they WERE. The real them.

That's storytelling. That's the whole point.
